Guney Boso, Ph.D.
Dr. Guney Boso received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in San Diego, CA. During these studies, Dr. Boso investigated the interaction of HIV with the host innate immune system and the ongoing evolutionary arms race between retroviruses and our immune system. He currently works as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and teaches as a faculty member at FAES, a graduate school that serves the NIH community. His current studies focus on the co-evolution of retroviruses with their mammalian hosts. At Georgetown, he teaches the Immunobiotechnology course offered in the spring semester.
