The celebration began with a welcome reception and registration for current students, faculty, and dozens of alumni, many of whom traveled hundreds of miles to attend. In total, there were over 300 in attendance.
After decades in investment field, Kimbell returned to school for his Master's degree in Biotechnology at Georgetown. Now he is pursuing a Ph.D. in pharmacology. Last year he represented Georgetown at the Leaders of Tomorrow Summit. He sits on a number of biotech boards and charities.

Kinney Horn, an alumnus of the program, recently came to speak with current Georgetown MS Biotechnology students. He spoke about his career at Genentech since graduating from the program in 2002 and his non-traditional path to working in biopharma, transitioning from a career in healthcare investment banking.
Grant from the Amgen Foundation to help implement its innovative science education program, in the greater Washington, DC, area. Students of our program will have the opportunity to volunteer and collaborate to bring biotechnology sciences to local area middle and high schools.
